Chicken Dumpling Stew

Ingredients:

1 onion, chopped in chunks

3 celery stalks, sliced (I don’t care for celery, so I left that out)

2 medium potatoes, chopped

4 skinless boneless chicken breasts, cut in 1″ pieces

2 cans cream of chicken soup

1 can cream of potato soup

1 package frozen mixed vegetables

1 cup chicken broth

1 pepper (I didn’t use this either)

1 cup Bisquick

1/3 cup water

Directions:
Combine onion, celery, potatoes, chicken, soups, frozen mixed vegetables, broth and pepper in crock pot. Mix well. Cook on high till heated through. Cook on low 6-8 hours and then turn Crockpot to high. Mix Bisquick and water and drop by tablespoons onto hot stew. Cook on high 20-25 minutes.

CHICKEN POETRY

Chickens in Poetry
Have you looked beneath the surface,
of the greatest poems and verse,
And seen that almost always,
There seems to be an anti animal curse,
But have you not noticed,
That the 'Charge of the Light Brigade',
Is about the Carge the Chickens made,
That 'Dulce et decorem est' ,
Is about the war in which the Chickens
were the best,
That Wadsworths 'Daffodils',
Is about Chickens in the hills,
That 'The Owl and the Pussycat',
Is about a Chicken,
And that is that!
-Nick Hilton
"It is just as desirable to build a
chicken house as it is to build a cathedral"..............
-FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT

I should introduce a few of my girls....
The Black Frizzle is "Christine", the French Favorolle is "Phee Phee", and my little Silkie, "Princess Leah". They are all in their "teen-age" phase at the present.

HEN HOUSES ?

Taking a short fall break, away from the interior. Inspired by a photo from Hooked on Houses blog, my back yard hen house is slowly but surely coming to life. My goal is to make it the most unique and stylish hen house of all. I will post a few shots of it shortly, but this is my inspiration.
